The Hemsworth brothers are the island’s most famous sibling export.

Silver screen heart throbs Luke, Chris and Liam have not forgotten their childhood home despite having hit the big time in Hollywood.

Liam – the youngest Hemsworth who is best known for his role in The Hunger Games film series - was in Year 8 when his parents Leonie and Craig relocated to the island, where the brothers spent much of their time surfing.

The brothers have occasionally given a nod to their hometown, including supporting the Stand Alone campaign, and opposing the controversial development of farmland zoned rural in Ventnor in 2011.

The development was overturned with the help of Liam’s then fiancé, pop star Miley Cyrus, after she tweeted that “Phillip Island is such a magical place, it would be a shame to see it change”.
