Phillip Island Health Hub Auxiliary Race Day
Come and enjoy the Phillip Island Health Hub Race Day on Saturday March 1.
The first gathering of Friends of Scenic Estate Reserve (FOSER) for 2025 last month was a success, despite hot weather.
Eight dedicated volunteers braved the conditions to join leaders John Eddy and Meg Anderson for the working bee.
"Many thanks as always to John Eddy for his thorough planning and organisation — site visits, weed maps, tools and more," said Meg.
"We dead-headed then dug out many medium to large thistles from a persistent patch just north of the wetland, in the southwest corner grassland and along the boardwalk.
"We also pulled out loads of small stinkwort plants from a persistent patch under the power line that John calls "Stinkwort Flats'. It was great to remove these before they flower and release seed."
The group finished up with a catch up and morning tea at the picnic area.
The next working bee is on Sunday March 2 for FOSER's Clean Up Australia Day effort at the reserve.
