Rosie Westbrook’s Cowes performance

Contemporary composer Rosie Westbrook will perform instore at Turn the Page in Cowes on Saturday August 26, 3pm. 

Rosie is a multi-instrumentalist and performer – renowned for creating music that is haunting, spacious and inherently cinematic – and her new album “Always the Sea” is her third solo album.

She will perform tracks from the album in Cowes, with her appearance following her European tour as bassist with Mick Harvey (PJ Harvey; ex-Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds).

She has also collaborated with international artists including Thomas Wydler (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds), Kim Deal (Pixies) and Dieter Meier (Yello).

She has worked with Australian contemporary music artists including Sean Kelly (Models); Mick Harvey; Clare Moore & Dave Graney; and Rob Snarski (Black-Eyed Susans).

Her solo performance work includes responding to visual art and creating live music installations in art spaces, including TarraWarra Museum of Art and Heide Museum of Modern Art.

Rosie is a composer for film and television, has produced soundtracks for documentary and short films and her music is described as ethereal and hypnotic soundscapes created from her trademark double bass and ringing guitars.
