Patchworkers Display on Cup Weekend
1 min read

Once again, the Phillip Island Patchwork Club will be showcasing quilts and associated crafts over the long weekend at its annual Patchworkers Display at the Newhaven Hall on Cup Weekend.

The display will be open from Saturday November 2 through to Tuesday November 5 from 10am to 4pm at the Newhaven Hall in Cleeland Street.

Admission is $8 and children are free. All proceeds going directly to local emergency services and charities to contribute to their fabulous community support.

"There will be the many fine patchwork quilts and other items made by our group of talented ladies, but you will also see the wonderful work produced by the Wonthaggi Woodcrafters," a group spokesperson said.

"There will be a trading table with lots of goodies to purchase, and our famous Devonshire tea available for $5."

Jeanette Clark from Patchwork Maze will have a shop set up where you can purchase a range of patchwork fabrics, patterns and accessories.

"Jeanette is a great supporter of the club and every year she organises a pattern and donates the fabric for us to create our raffle quilts.

"Have a go at patchwork yourself by assisting our members who will be sewing quilts for our Comfort Quilt program over the weekend. These quilts are donated locally to organisations who support community members in need.

"Our love of craft and friendship is what brings us together," continued the spokesperson.

"We all enjoy what we do, we like to share skills and of course have a chat. Come along and join in the fun and friendship - new members are warmly welcomed."

If you would like more information or would like to join the friendly club - please call President Gayle Rowden on 0400 634 282 or catch up with one of the members on Cup Weekend. An information flyer and yearly calendar will be available at the display.
