This follows on from Southern Ocean Live, which broadcast from the Penguin Parade on Tuesday, June 21, complete with a local audience.
Dr Ann Jones takes look at the world’s smallest penguins, living on the southern coastline of Australia.
As well as featuring the world-famous penguin parade on Phillip Island, the show also heads to St Kilda to meet the city cousins.
The show follows the penguins for six months as they find partners and homes to raise their chicks.
According to the show’s producers, inside the colony are “both tales of domestic bliss and neighbourhood dramas”, while at sea, the little penguins “are forced to face trials of tempestuous weather, strong currents and migrating fish stocks”.
They may be small, but these little creatures are also incredibly tough, so prepare to be amazed, surprised and inspired!
Meet The Penguins airs Tuesday June 28, 8.30pm, ABC TV and ABC iview.
