Head back to Nature these holidays
1 min read

Get the kids outside during the holidays, with some fun activities on offer from the Phillip Island Nature Parks.

Spring is a fantastic time to get out into nature, with plants in bloom and beautiful babies to enjoy.

Visit the Koala Conservation Reserve and see three joeys – the biggest baby boom at the reserve in 13 years.

Take a walk around Swan Lake and enjoy the beautiful spring vegetation– including wattles and coast beard-heath. Keep an eye out for baby swans (cygnets), taking to the water with mum.

Plan a visit to Churchill Island and catch some of the fantastic daily demonstrations and activities.

10.30am:         Blacksmithing
2.10pm:         Cow Milking
2.30pm:        Sheep Shearing (Weekends only and school holidays)
2.45pm:        Working Dogs sheep round up
3.00pm:        Whip Cracking

Add to your list of baby-sightings with the new lambs at Churchill Island.

Or take a step back in time and hitch a ride on a wagon.

The popular wagon rides are back at Churchill Island for the school holidays! The horse and wagon rides will run daily from September 16 until October 1, from 1pm – 2pm.

The restored wagon can hold 10 people at a time, with tickets $7 per person.

Of course, you can always enjoy all the fun of the Penguin Parade each evening. The visitor centre opens daily at 4pm, while the stars of the show – the penguins – arrive every evening at sunset.
