Going off like Rockets

On Sunday December 17 the Phillip Island Jazz Club presents Stevenson’s Rockets performing at the final jazz event for 2023.

This group is four piece with some of the most successful and acknowledged musicians: Jo Stevenson, Steven Grant on keyboards, Chris Ludowyk on bass and Ian Smith on drums.

Jo Stevenson has been playing both piano and piano accordion since the age of 13 but now specialises in reeds.

Steven Grant will be playing piano and has become a regular playing with many groups throughout the year.

Chris Ludowyk who we normally see playing trzombone will be playing the bass and Ian Smith is the fantastic drummer.

“With Christmas only a few days from our Sunday Jazz afternoon, why not make up a table with friends for a Merry Christmas afternoon while listening to some great entertainment with a few nibbles along with drinks from our happy bar staff,” said a club spokesperson.

“We are expecting lots of people for the event so we suggest that you book your spot.

“Cost for the day will be $20 for members and $25 for guests. The entertainment commences at 2pm and concludes at 4.30pm.”

This event, at the Phillip Island Bowling Club, 40 Dunsmore Road in Cowes, is proudly supported by Terry White Chemmart Pharmacy.
