Island poet and local identity Dogga Luke launched his book of poetry at the Phillip Island Boardriders Club on Saturday October 28.
A prolific writer, his book “Some of Life’s Selected Ramblings” contains just a fraction of his poetry, with many inspired by his life on Phillip Island.
The former surfer hung up his wetsuit in his mid-70s but many of the poems celebrated the local waves and surfing culture, so the Boardriders Club was the ideal location for a launch.
Surrounded by family, friends and surfing colleagues, Dogga was kept busy signing copies.
Dogga treated the crowd to an impromptu performance of an ode he wrote to the Boardriders’ Club, and thanked everyone who worked in the background to make the book and the launch a success.
