Acclaim for first Surf Film Festival

The inaugural Bass Coast Surf Film Festival was a resounding success, with members of the local surfing community flocking to the event at Berninneit on March 2.

Organiser Anneli McKinnon said lots of tickets were sold and she received some terrific feedback from those who attended.

She hopes to make the film festival an annual event, with plans to expand it to a full weekend of live music, films and other aspects of surfing life.

"Thank you to everybody who made the first Bass Coast Surf Film Festival such a success," Anneli said.

"Special thanks to our generous raffle prize donors Jacquie Chambers Art, Island Surf, Girls on Board and We are Feel Good Inc.

On the festival Instagram page, attendees voiced their support for the event.

"Thanks very much for a fabulous evening. Loved "Bigger than me" ... very inspiring," said one.

"Congratulations on a fantastic night ... ready to lock the next Bass Coast film festival in the diary," wrote another.
