Visitors and locals flocked to San Remo to enjoy the sunshine and the seafood at the weekend’s TIDAL Seafood Festival

Thousands of people attended the two days of activities, while the Festival was launched with the sell out Gala Ball on Friday night.

Profits from the $5 entry ticket to the event will be donated to local emergency services.

San Remo SES said the money will go towards a third vehicle bay for the unit.

“What’s there now is 25 years old,” said Unit Controller Mandy Chancellor. “The community has grown, but not the structure.”

Over at the San Remo CFA unit, the money will be used for some much-needed equipment. The unit hopes to upgrade its helmet and body torches and PPE, as well as replace a couple of hoses.
