Will exploring with the magnifying glass during Science Week.
The students at Our lady Star of the Sea recently celebrated National Science week during their weekly science lessons.
This year’s theme was “Glass: more than meets the eye” and was based on the UN International Year of Glass. The students explored the many ways glass is used at school, at home and by scientists.
The students were very excited to utilise the new microscopes and periscope, as well as the school’s binoculars, magnifying glasses and kaleidoscopes. They then enjoyed playing the traditional game of marbles and created marble runs.
Senior students also investigated glass and glass recycling as a part of OLSS’s sustainable future focus.
