San Remo Primary is kicking goals
1 min read

There was a hive of activity at San Remo Primary on Monday morning with the grade 3/4 students heading off to a two night/three-day camp at Forrest Lodge Camp near Yarram.

There were the excited, the nervous and the hyper students and parents at school with their bags, back packs and pillows ready to head off on camp.

“They will come back with huge smiles and great stories of how they went on the giant swing or how muddy they got on the mud run,” said Principal Karen Bowker.

“It is all part of our extracurricular activities at school which also include excursions linked to our learning and performing arts.”

San Remo Primary has a strong focus on curriculum with all students having strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics and all other curriculum areas.

Following on this year the teachers and students continue to work with maths specialists and learning specialists to deepen and expand on the latest teaching methods to ensure that the students have the best possible learning available to them.

This goes hand in hand with a strong focus on student wellbeing and social skills.

They have calmer corners available to all students in each classroom as well as a dedicated wellbeing room and outdoor calmer corner for students.

“We are also currently working with architects to design a sensory garden that will hopefully be built later this year, which we are really excited about,” Karen said.

Karen is very excited to showcase her school at their Open Day, this Friday May 19 from 9.30am – 10.30am. Everyone is welcome.
