On Sunday, the San Remo Pre-school celebrated 50 years of fantastic community-run childcare.
The 50-year anniversary celebrations included market stalls, face painting, games, pony rides, a jumping castle and of course a sausage sizzle.
The beautiful weather saw lots of families of current and former students turn out to enjoy the fun.
Generations of local families have passed through the pre-school over the years, which currently has 112 students enrolled for its three- and four-year-old kinder sessions.
With nine staff, some who have been with the centre for more than 20 years, the not-for-profit pre-school is run and managed by a volunteer committee, one of only two such centres in the shire.
Earlier this year, the pre-school opened its new playground, funded through a state government grant and funds raised by the committee. The playground was well utilised during Sunday’s event, with special games organised for the children.
