San Remo campus bigger and better
1 min read

Bass Coast College San Remo Campus continues to grow, welcoming 160 new year 7 students in 2024.

This takes the student population to 430.

Along with new students the San Remo Campus has employed 16 new staff across all learning areas and education support.

"The new cohort have settled in well and are showing us they're kind, eager to learn and inquisitive, all positive characteristics for students to have," said campus principal Emma Harris.

"Our extensive transition has prepared the Year 7's well for the expectations of secondary school and reduced anxiety about being in a new environment as they have already met their teachers before the year begins.

"Our college is going from strength to strength as we grow," Ms Harris continued.

"We're proud of our achievements in academic and extra-curricular areas such as sport and music and are expecting to see outstanding results again this year.

"BCC prides itself in being an inclusive school catering to individual student needs and creating positive educational pathways for all."

2024 sees two new curriculum programs introduced: SWELL (Social, Wellbeing, Engagement, Leadership and Learning) and Cultural Studies.

Both programs are aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and aim to develop a student's sense of self and their place and responsibility in community.

BCC's ongoing commitment to wellbeing is being enhanced with a new partnership with The Resilience Program (TRP) starting in Term 2.

TRP will be a part of Year 7 BOOST pastoral care program which was implemented in 2023.
