Newhaven College was thrilled to welcome parents and guardians for a social gathering on the first Friday of term.
Those in attendance were serenaded by Newhaven College's Music teacher David Prideaux on guitar whose talent is legendary in our local community.
College staff and Parents and Friends Association (PFA) volunteers served drinks and canapes for around 200 guests, consisting of new and existing parents/ guardians, college staff and teachers.
The incredible Performing Arts Wing foyer was the perfect venue for the event, with the box office drinks servery, great acoustics, plenty of parking and room to roam around and mingle.
Principal Tony Corr welcomed all new and existing parents, guardians, staff and teachers to the new year at Newhaven College.
Members of the PFA facilitated some fun games, which brought everyone together. The PFA look forward to welcoming new parent/friend volunteers.
New to the role of Head of Junior School in 2024, Cath Huther, who is also a 1992 alum and Newhaven parent, reflected on the evening.
"The welcome drinks evening was a wonderful occasion, facilitating connections with former colleagues and establishing new connections," Cath said.
"Having been a local resident for many years, I recognised many familiar parent faces. Meeting a range of new parents, especially those new to the College, added a special dimension to the event as we start this new journey at Newhaven College together.
"The night was a fantastic amalgamation of fun, laughter, and the rekindling of connections within the school community."
