Newhaven College principal Tony Corr jumped on his bike last Friday morning to accompany 157 students as they took part in National Ride2School Day.
The event, organised by the College’s MTB Academy, saw the group ride along Phillip Island Rd from Cape Woolamai, while another contingent rode from Cowes.
Parents, friends and older students guided them safely to the school gates, by providing support vehicles and experienced rider leaders.
Mr Corr’s bike suffered a flat tyre on the first leg, but dad Sean Cohoe saved the day by offering up his bike.
Everyone donned their ‘splash of orange’ to support Harmony Day, the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
