Much needed school maintenance
1 min read

Two local schools were among 59 to receive money from a State Government funding program for school maintenance.

Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale announced Bass Coast College and Newhaven Primary School received $942,752 and $52,833 respectively under the Planned Maintenance Program (PMP).

The PMP provides funding to address high-priority maintenance issues across government schools to undertake essential work in classrooms and other school buildings such as fixing roofs and replacing windows, painting, and resurfacing floors, as well as some external works like improving pathways.

"As I continue to work for a major upgrade for Bass Coast College's Dudley campus, this funding is for the complete rebuild of 15 ramps and minor work on two ramps ensuring students have good safe access to facilities to match the quality education they receive," said Ms Crugnale.

"It is on top of the College's recent $569,552 with the majority going to this campus for roof works, repainting and switch board works."

Ms Crugnale also praised Newhaven Primary, saying it was a "great local school".

"I'm pleased they are getting the maintenance funds they need."
