Established in 1980, Newhaven College is an independent school of over 900 students. The College provides a secure and fulfilling education for Prep-Year 12 students, with a focus on building a foundation of inner confidence and respect to ground them through adult life.

Newhaven College is about hands-on sensory learning. Whether it be a maths class, outdoor education or music lessons, teachers are actively present. Our educators are at their peak professionally, resulting in students receiving the best possible education.
Newhaven College has a proud academic record, leading the local region in VCE results. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, study scores improved compared to previous years. In 2021, our Dux achieved an ATAR of 99.1, later receiving a Premier’s VCE Award for Excellence. The college offers a wide range of VET subjects to complement the school curriculum.

The physical and mental health of all students is part of the grounding for adulthood. Pastoral care within the school is paramount, with health and well-being classes being included in the curriculum.
Year 9’s unique learning space is based at the secluded Environmental Centre set away from the main College campus. Looking out over Westernport Bay, the open space and healthy atmosphere help to shape a student’s mindset. Students and teachers have open minds, keen to learn and take on new ideas. Wearing their special Year 9 ‘ranger-style’ uniforms, complete with hiking boots and fleece jumpers, students are ready to move between the classroom and outdoor activities as opportunities arise.
