Grade One students from Cowes Primary dropped into the Advertiser last week, on an excursion exploring the local services as part of their social studies curriculum theme “Community.”
Grade One students from Cowes Primary School took a walk around Cowes on Thursday, as part of their social studies curriculum theme “Community.”
The young students checked out community services in the main street, took a peep through the fence at the new Cowes Cultural and Community Centre, and popped in for a visit to the Advertiser office in Chapel Street to catch up with the latest community news.
The group are avid readers of the Advertiser, which is dropped off to their school weekly, and had a few suggestions on topics that they would like to see covered on a regular basis.
Surfing, gymnastics, netball and football topped their list.
The children were accompanied on their visit by class teachers Sue Becker and Elise Wood.
