Celebrating 100 Days of school

The Foundation students at Our Lady Star of the Sea were excited to celebrate their 100 days of school this month.

The classroom was full of 100-year-olds, Numberblocks, and students dressed to impress in 100-themed outfits.

The giggles rang through the school as the students used an ageing app to see what they will look like when they are 100. They wrote about it, with many students looking forward to being able to go to fun places and eat all the treats they like when they are older, albeit with “flat, grey hair” and “lots of wrinkles”!

The older students came to share some ideas about 100 and explore the different collections of 100 that the Foundation students had bought from home. Highlights from the day included crown making with 100 spots, making necklaces with 100 Cheerios, baking cupcakes topped with 100’s and 1000’s and lots of fun Maths games.

Involving the whole school community in the celebrations with a morning parade and visits from other classes made the day all the more memorable. A school spokesperson said they could not be prouder of the progress of the Foundation students in their first 100 days of school.

“Their learning and skill development have been special to watch, and we look forward to seeing them thrive as the year continues.”
