Supporting the community that supports us
1 min read

Phillip Island Nature Parks opens its Community Giving Program this month in a show of support for local not-for-profit groups, sporting clubs and schools across Bass Coast.

Applications for the first round of Community Giving are open until May 31, while a second round will commence on October 1 and close on November 30.

Each year, the Nature Parks commits funds and in-kind support as a way of 'giving back' to the Phillip Island community.

Community Impact Manager Kate Adams said Phillip Island Nature Parks greatly value the community as a key stakeholder and partner in its important conservation work.

"The Nature Parks has been a long-term supporter of local organisations, charities, and events across Bass Coast. Our Community Giving Program is about giving back and supporting the very people who support us in our dedicated conservation efforts," Ms Adams said.

"We encourage applications for donations, in-kind support and sponsorship of initiatives that align with our values and work to preserve this special region of Victoria for generations to come.

"In particular, we are keen to help community efforts that align with our ethos at the Nature Parks to educate and raise awareness about nature, conservation and sustainability, as well as respect for the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities."

Other priority areas include projects that celebrate or promote diversity and inclusion in our community, art, history and culture, and sport and recreation, Ms Adams said.
