Bass Coast Health (BCH) is taking to the road to present a series of Community Forums across the municipality in October.
The forums will be the community’s chance to learn more about the exciting Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion (WHE) that will open in December this year, as well as the Phillip Island Community Hospital that is scheduled to open in late 2024, and also our plan to grow our services.
Forums will be held at Corinella, Grantville, Cowes, Newhaven, Wonthaggi and Inverloch, as well as online via Zoom for those people unable to reach our in-person events.
The forums will be hosted by BCH’s Community Advisory Committee and our fabulous Auxiliaries: the Bass Coast Health Ladies Auxiliary, Phillip Island Health Hub Auxiliary, San Remo Opportunity Shop Auxiliary and the Inverloch Fundraising Auxiliary.
BCH CEO Jan Child said these are exciting times for the local health service and the community.
“We are so proud of the Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion and the first-class facilities that it will bring to our community, as well as the additional services that we will eventually be able to offer from this bigger and better building,” she said.
“The Phillip Island Community Hospital will be built next to the existing Health Hub at Cowes and will also offer a greater range of healthcare services to the Island community, saving residents from having to travel to Wonthaggi Hospital or Melbourne.
“We’re thrilled to be presenting these information forums to our community so that they can find out more about our services.”
