
For the last 14 years, Kaloha Caravan Park campers have attended the Woolamai Cup, dressed to impress in co-ordinated two-tone outfits. This year they looked resplendent in yellow and mauve as they faced the Fashions on the Field judges.

Cowes couple Garry and Dawn Balfe. Garry was named runner up in the men’s Fashion on the Field contest.

Fashions on the Field judges had a difficult task on Saturday, but did a great job getting through categories that ranged from the weird and wonderful, to the elegant and refined. From left: Jessica Odgers (organiser) Mandy Manning and Karlie Owens.

This happy group at the Cowes Transit Station were about to head off on Saturday to the Picnic Races in air conditioned comfort on board the Woolamai races bus, wearing matching shirts for the occasion.

Such is the fame of the Woolamai Picnic Races that this group from Maryvale travelled down to enjoy an outing together at Saturday’s Woolamai Cup.

The Alex Scott and Staff Woolamai Cup was won by Grande Marengo in a flying finish. A huge crowd turned out to the Woolamai Racecourse for the 2023 Alex Scott Woolamai Cup on Saturday.
Highlight of the program was Race 5, which saw Cranbourne based Grande Marengo, ridden by Shaun Cooper, take out the Cup.
As well as the racing program, guests enjoyed the great food available on course on the day, picnics on the lawn, entertainment and a fashion on the fields contest, which saw a wide range of outfits in contention.
