Snake season started earlier this year
Ollie the 16-year-old python with Phillip Island snake catcher, Ahsien Nelson. The mum-of-three owns 18 snakes and 10 lizards, offering demonstrations with Island Pythons, but also catches about five snakes a week in spring and summer. She says snake season has started earlier than usual this year and yes they are all copperheads on the island.
